Assessu Update: 04/07/2023

Please be aware that IfATE have published a new standard version for Retail Manager. The new version is v1.2 and was published on 17/05/2023.

The changes are:

  • Within the assessment plan, the number of resits permitted within an assessment window is no longer capped at two attempts. Therefore, the amount of times an apprentice can attempt one assessment method within an assessment window is unlimited.

As with any new version, Assessu will create assessment materials which will reflect the changes and prepare for assessments on this version. We plan to assess against these new requirements on version 1.2 from 01/11 2023 and apprentices already on programme at this point will be able to transfer to the new version.

Therefore, apprentices will be assessed as follows:

  • Apprentices with an on programme start date prior to 17/05/2023 will be assessed on version 1.1 up until 01/11/2023 including where they are part way through their EPA on this date.
  • Apprentices with an on programme start date prior to 17/05/2023 who are due to start their EPA on or after 01/11/2023 will be assessed on version 1.1 unless you choose to register the apprentice on version 1.2. Registration for version 1.2 will be available from 01/09/2023.
  • Apprentices with an on programme start date on or after 17/05/2023 will only be assessed on version 1.2.

In all cases, PLEASE ensure the apprentice is registered on the same version that matches the ILR. If it does not match we will be unable to claim the Apprenticeship certification on completion of the End Point Assessment.
